Who am I?

I'm Ylenia Riccardi, Virtual Assistant and Digital Nomad, and I want to share with you the path that led me to become one.

My passion for travel began right after high school, when I decided to step out of my comfort zone and apply for a Working Holiday Visa for Australia. My intention was simple: learn English, acquire some qualifications and go back home. However, I found myself living an extraordinary adventure, which allowed me to know myself better, to improve myself, to love and appreciate myself more than I had ever done. From there, I explored Asia, Europe and South America, accumulating experiences that enriched me both personally and professionally.

his Batman

Traveling, as you can imagine, is not free, and it is precisely thanks to the need to support myself that I have had the opportunity to take on different roles that have enriched me both personally and professionally. I have acquired transversal skills by working as a receptionist, event hostess, secretary, sales assistant, in the back office, catering and at the call center. All these experiences have taught me to learn quickly and to adapt easily to new and challenging situations.

The skills I acquired were consolidated in my experience as an Office Manager in a financial group, where I managed the office, welcomed clients and assisted three CEOs, optimizing their time and supporting company activities, like a Robin for his Batman. I developed a strong sense for details and problem solving skills, working effectively even under pressure. Collaborating with the HR team, I coordinated office logistics, managed supplier relations, managed employee onboarding and offboarding, and contributed to the creation of the company handbook and a newsletter to improve internal communication.

My Life as a Digital Nomad

I finally found a job that I was passionate about, but it conflicted with my other great passion: travel. So I decided to find a way to ensure that one passion did not extinguish the other, accepting the challenge of opening a VAT number and becoming a professional freelancer specialized as a virtual assistant.

Today, after two years of working remotely, I support companies in administrative, accounting and human resources, freeing up precious time for my clients and allowing them to focus on their business priorities.

By collaborating with different companies, I have been able to continue to grow and develop new skills, becoming completely independent and thanks to remote work, I have the opportunity to carry out the profession I love anywhere in the world, without having to give up my passion for travel, which has taught me the importance of flexibility, resilience and empathy, values that I bring to my daily work today.

This is how I became a virtual assistant and a digital nomad.
